As we enter into the second half of 2019, are token offerings projects performing any better during H2 2018? 

Especially since there have been several bullish events for the nascent market. For example, During his recent hearing on cryptocurrencies, U.S Senator Mike Crapo reiterated the importance of Digital Assets and its importance to the American economy. 

He was quoted saying “It seems to me that digital technology innovations are inevitable, could be beneficial, and I believe that the U.S. should lead in developing these innovations and what the rules of the road should be.” also he added “If the United States were to decide — and I’m not saying that it should — if the United States were to decide we didn’t want cryptocurrency to happen in the United States and tried to ban it, I’m pretty confident we couldn’t succeed.”.

On that note, here are a few key takeaways from the report -

  • There’s stiff competition between the US, China, Singapore, and the UK to become the leader in the token offerings space. While the US and the UK leads in terms of number of token offerings, Asian jurisdictions have attracted significant funds.

China has emerged as the global leader in terms of funds raised, having raised a whopping $87 million and accounted for as much as 31% of the total funds raised. 

The US came a close second having raised a whopping $80 million, followed by Singapore with $43 million.

  • Breaking the norm, Gaming and Advertising & Marketing industry sector startups have attracted the most funds during July 2019, having raised a whopping $72 million and $43 million respectively.
  • Venture Funding in Blockchain and Crypto startups has gone up as much as 142% when compared to the previous month and amounted to a whopping $547 million.
